Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is a history-rich, gothic, and Renaissance-style city in central Europe. In modern times, it is viewed as one of the best locations to visit not just in Europe but the world. This blog will give an itinerary/tips for your visit to Prague and ensure that no matter how long you have on your trip, you make the most of it. Stick around to the end to discover some vital tips to make your trip unforgettable.
Personally, I think every trip to Prague should start in the
Old Town Square. Surrounded by some of the best restaurants, and bars, and is
also home to Prague’s most famous cultural monument, the Astronomical Clock.
The Astronomical Clock is the oldest clock still in operation in the world and
is over 600 years old.
If you want to try the local delicacies, Trdelnik (Chimney
Cake) is a great place to start. Chlebíčky (an open-faced sandwich) which is
usually eaten for breakfast or lunch is a favourite for locals and tourists.
Furthermore, the local beer, Pilsner Lager, is a very cheap and refreshing way
to rejuvenate yourself after a long day of walking.
Other landmarks that must be visited in Prague are the Lennon Wall, the Dancing House and the Petrin Tower. Below are some tips that will ensure that your trip to Prague is worry-free so that you can enjoy the city without having any apprehension.
1. Arrive early for the Astronomical Clock’s hourly
show to ensure you have the best view.
2. Don’t tire yourself out walking everywhere,
public transport is very cheap and reliable.
3. Make sure to stamp your tram ticket to avoid
fines.
4. You do not have to book a hotel in the direct
centre, as transportation is very good.
5. Wear comfortable shoes, as the cobbled streets
can lead to unfortunate falls if wearing inappropriate footwear.
6.
Pre-book hotel taxi – Metro doesn’t extend to
the airport.
I would definitely recommend Prague to other city break
travellers and would rank it 4th place on my list of cities I have
travelled to.
